Our parents can access health information through the 'Healthy Together' service, an NHS run program.
In Leicestershire and Rutland the Healthy Child Programme has been split into two, and is now running as follows:
- 0-11 (up until year 6 of primary school) is known locally as the Healthy Together service delivered by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust
- 11+: Teen Health 11-19 Service is a new service to support the health and wellbeing of young people in Leicestershire and Rutland.
Healthy Together is a universal service for children and their families from 0-11, and a range of services are available for every child and their family – from before the baby is born right up to the age of 11, including the health visiting and school nursing services.
Children will be seen by a public health nurse (health visitor) six times before the age of 2 with health and wellbeing being assessed at key points in their school life (from Reception to Year 6).
From pregnancy through to pre-school, Health for Under 5s offers a great choice of health related information for parents and carers of 0 to 5 year olds, helping you to enjoy healthy, happy early years with your little ones.
Health for Kids enables primary school age children to learn about health in a fun and interactive way. They can venture into the four different worlds discovering exciting activities, playing games and taking quizzes along the way.
